Absolutely love the new menu. The Turkish eggs were sooo good. Coffee was great. And the new owners and staff were lovely. Looking forward to coming in for the evening offerings too. Yay for Mullumbimby to have another great place.
A Kraken Good Feast After the Storm! After weathering the mighty wrath of Cyclone Alfred, when most of Mullum lay in a post-tempest slumber, The Empire Café stood tall—like a gallant galleon refusing to sink! Open on a Sunday, no less. True champions of the storm. We staggered in, weary sailors, stomachs grumbling louder than the winds that had howled through the night. But lo! A beacon of gluten free culinary salvation awaited. A chilli scramble, bold and fiery as a pirate's last stand; a halloumi and egg roll so gloriously golden, it could’ve been part of The Empire’s royal treasury. And the coffee—liquid gold fit for an emperor (or at least a very smug, crown-wearing sloth). After days of rations and cyclone supplies, this was the feast we needed. No need to venture to the ends of the shire—The Empire Café remains the undefeated champion in the battle against hunger. Raise the flag, mates, and set sail for The Empire!
Food was okay. Nice presentation. Friendly waitresses. Cool decor. Interesting menu.
Great food! Friendly and punctual staff - we got our meals so fast. I had the Mushrooms on Toast (highly recommend, best breaky I’ve had in a while) and my partner had the avo on toast. Atmosphere is cosy, booths could have some pillows to add a bit more comfort but otherwise perfect.
Omg stunning corn and Zuchini fritters and coffee this morning. Just what I needed after having no electricity for the last week because of Cyclone Alfred. Needed the nurturing, wholesome food… so fresh and delicious flavours.
Outstanding food and service. Supporting local produce and brewery. So glad we made the trip down from the Goldie. Will definitely be back.
